Safar is route sales and invoicing software for wholesale distributors. This policy explains what information Safar collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to users. Safar does not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use customer business data to train AI models.

Who operates Safar

Who this policy covers

Safar serves two kinds of people and businesses.

• A wholesale distributor that is our customer, including owners and staff who have Safar accounts.
• The distributor's own customers, such as stores whose business contact details are entered into Safar.

For information about a distributor's customers, Safar acts on the distributor's instructions. If you are a customer of a distributor and have a question or request about your information, contact that distributor first.

Information we collect

Account information may include:

• Name and email address.
• Password, which is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider and is never readable by us.
• Role and permissions within the distributor's business.

A distributor may enter business information, including:

• Its business name, address, phone number, and email address.
• Its customers' business names, addresses, contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
• Products, prices, costs, and inventory counts.
• Invoices, estimates, and records of payments received by cash, check, or on account.
• Routes, visits, and notes.
• Photos and documents, such as a photo of a signed order.

Safar does not process card payments or bank transfers. Safar does not collect card numbers or bank account numbers. It only records that a payment was received.

Device features and offline storage

If a user allows location access, the phone app uses the device's location for the map and the "near me" customer filter. Location is used on the device to show the user's position and nearby customers. It is not saved to our servers. Safar does not track location in the background.

The camera and photo library are used only when the user chooses to scan a barcode or attach a photo.

To work without a signal, the app stores some information on the device. This can include unsynced invoices, visits and payments, copies of recently viewed lists, and display preferences. Unsynced information remains on the device until it uploads.

Sign-in uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work.

If notifications are allowed, the phone app may send notifications about the user's own work, such as sync problems.

Website and demo requests

Safarroute.com has no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or advertising cookies.

The demo request form collects a name, business name, phone number, email address, number of representatives, and a message. We use this information only to reply to the request.

Our hosting providers record standard request logs. These logs may include an IP address, browser type, and request time. We use them for security and troubleshooting.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate Safar.
• Store and sync distributor business records.
• Send invoices and statements by email when a user asks us to do so.
• Provide customer support.
• Protect the service and investigate security or technical problems.
• Meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use personal data for advertising. We do not use customer business data to train AI models.

Service providers

We use service providers that process information for us:

• Supabase provides the database, sign-in services, and file storage. It is hosted in the United States, in the Ohio region.
• Our hosting provider operates the application infrastructure. We plan to use Vercel for hosting.
• Google Maps Platform provides maps, address features, and route directions. Addresses of stops are sent to Google to draw maps and routes.
• Resend sends email requested through Safar.

Data storage and retention

Data is stored in the United States.

We keep account and business data while the distributor's account is active. After a distributor closes its account, we will delete or return its data within [NUMBER] days, except for information that the law requires us to keep.

We keep demo requests for up to [NUMBER] months.

Security

We use encryption in transit. Business records in the database are separated by organization, so one distributor cannot read another distributor's records. Role-based permissions limit access within each distributor's business.

No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Rights and choices

Users may ask to see, correct, export, or delete their personal data by emailing haanie@safarroute.com.

Staff of a distributor should usually ask their employer's owner first. A distributor's customer should contact the distributor first about information that the distributor entered.

To delete an account, email haanie@safarroute.com or ask the business owner. The business owner may request closure of the distributor's account.

Location, camera, photo, and notification permissions can be turned off in the phone's settings. Some related features may then stop working.

Children

Safar is a business tool. It is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

International data use

Safar's data is stored in the United States. People using Safar from another country understand that their information will be transferred to and stored in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We will post changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes, we will notify account owners by email.
